More About the Artists
Tolgahan Çoğulu is the inventor of the adjustable microtonal guitar, an 8-string classical instrument with moveable frets that allows for intricate microtonal adjustments. A professor at Istanbul Technical University, Tolgahan has performed in 33 countries and won the prestigious Georgia Tech Margaret Guthman Musical Instrument Competition in 2014. His groundbreaking work bridges cultures and traditions through a unique musical lens.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinan Ayyıldız is an acclaimed saz virtuoso known for his innovative double-necked saz and his ability to blend traditional Turkish folk music with contemporary global styles. Sinan has collaborated on international projects such as the Stereognosis Project and the bands Etni-ka, Mesel and Devingen. He currently serves as an associate professor in Ankara and continues to push the boundaries of contemporary folk music.
